Tell us a little bit about your background?
When I was young drawing has been my favorite game and at older age things wasn’t been so different. I’ve chosen artistic studies and after five years like attendee at the Paolo Toschi Art Institute I've been Master of Art in Graphic disciplines. A fundamental period for my stylistic formation, thanks to passionate teachers too. Now I continue playing with images, like web designer, but I need to fully express myself in other ways, because is what I really need and love to do. This Moleskine prove it.

Who are your main inspirations? / What are your influences?
Inspiration come both from classic art and both from graphic design. I think that graphic could be considered a contemporary expression of art. For example I like the unfinished style of Michelangelo and the provocative ideas of Bruno Munari – Italian designer active in years '70 and recently disappeared. I also love to put something of the sculpture in my drawings, by the use of dark and sharp lights, in order to make them seem more plastics. Contradictive to this concepts, and like graphic designer, synthesis is my original vocation that I’m trying to mitigate.

How do you keep motivated and interested?
Motivation comes from ideas and ideas come from anything. A good idea may keep me busy for many years too. Sometimes I wake up at night with an idea buzzing in mind and I immediately sketch it on paper. Generally speaking, the constant work and research help to keep fresh ideas and increase skills.

Do you have any new projects coming up that you can tell us about?
My Moleskine project has an expiration date, and that day will be definitely closed. This experience could be useful to develop a style that melt pure graphic and drawing, analog and digital together. This maybe a possible future.

What do you know about your country’s design/designers?
I know that Italian designers are much more appreciated outside our territory. The international style and the too advanced ideas make them misunderstood in Italy. If you ask me to make a name, there’s only one, Munari, has been a precursor of times. He made a real innovation.

Any words you would like to pass it to new comer designers?
If you have a passion, or some talent, don’t underrate this gift. Listen the critiques, but decide by yourself. If you want to do a thing you can do it. And first of all share the ideas.

Any final comments?
Only thanks to NWP for this opportunity.
